  Shivneri Fort considered to be the birth place of Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj .Shivneri Fort holds high esteem in Maratha and Maharashtrian history. Inside the Shivneri Fort, there is a temple that is dedicated to Goddess Shivani Devi.   Torna Fort is located in Pune district.The Torna Fort is also known as Prachandagad and it is the first fort won by chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj at the age of 16. It is also known as the first pillar of Swaraj and Maratha empire. It is the highest and most difficult fort to capture but then also Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj captured that fort it was not easy to captured such fort at only age of 16. It is historically significant because it was the first fort captured by chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj in 1646 at the age of 16. The fort of hill has an elevation of 1,403 meters(4,603 ft) above sea level ,making it highest hill fort in district.
